synopsis via Goodreads: It’s not easy being beautiful. The envy…the jealousy…the vicious rumors spread by your best friend…that’s life for young Momo. Thought to be a wild party-girl, she is shy and lonely in reality. Can Momo confess her love to her classmate Toji–or will her best friend steal him away? Winner of the prestigious Kodansha Manga Award, Peach Girl is a bittersweet coming-of-age drama with incredible artwork that will captivate readers everywhere.
my thoughts:  even though its a really default shoujo (first love) story, I loved how original it felt and how realistic it is where you have your own stupid insecurities and you try to change yourself for the guy you like and how hard it is to have a “friend” who is your only friend but is toxic and manipulative. so theres a huge dilemma of having that one really toxic friend or having absolutely no friends and the entire surrounding think of you as a slut and publicly try to shame you for it.  and most importantly kids are mean.
