synopsis via goodreads: A brilliantly innovative and highly entertaining novel from a literary pioneer.

Take a trip in a stranger’s head. Travel rain-shot streets with a gang of hip malcontents, hooked on the most powerful drug you can imagine. Yet Vurt feathers are not for the weak. As the mysterious Game Cat says, ‘Be careful, be very careful’. But Scribble isn’t listening. He has to find his lost love. His journey is a mission to find Curious Yellow, the ultimate, perhaps even mythical Vurt feather. As the most powerful narcotic of all, Scribble must be prepared to leave his current reality behind.

my thoughts: it was a heavily drug induced ride down the rabbit hole. its a alien intermittent book where the main character deals with his childhood traumas of his abusive father and has illegal feelings for his sister who is lost in the Vurt (because you have exchange something if you wanna get something or if you wanna get out, but cant use the pullout method anymore.) Vurt is a universe where you either re-live the most horrible events of your life magnified, and becoming a loop where you rile yourself up even more, or you get to a state where you get involved in bsdm sex/orgies even with crossbreeds and aliens. theres also a garden where everything is blissful but if its too blissful and if it is endorsed by a snakes venom youll get caught by cops and you can get heavy jail time. our main character is searching for his little sister who is stuck somewhere and has to experiment with the different doors of vurt and still escape the police. the book contains strong language, incest, child abuse, bestiality,  rape (guy fucks an alien in her sleep) murder and graphic sex scenes.

what i disliked the reason why its a 4 /5 stars for me is because theres no role for women, theres no women present except for the alien who is well… no spoilers. so yeah, it was just a sausage fest all around the book.
